How do I block someone from calling me on AT&T?

I’ve seen plenty of old forums and such that say blocking a phone # on a cell phone can’t be done. This is quite ridiculous and if it is the case makes me want to write some code to check the incoming number and block it. How hard can that be? Perhaps with the OpenMoko coming out, more people will start building cell phone apps. Hopefully something has already changed from the old posts though. Thanks!

You have AT&T so you can get Smart Limits. This add on service lets you block people from calling you and texting you. Call customer care to get the service. It is $4.99 per month to have.

Some phones have an option called a rejection list. It would be under call settings if you have this option. You would simply add the number to the rejection list and the call wouldn’t go through. Actually the caller just goes straight to voice mail.

If you do not have the rejection list, then assign a silent ringtone to the person. That way the person calls, you won’t hear them calling. You can just ignore the call.

    most of the time you cant block a specific or private numbers from calling, the only thing att has built into the network is the feature listed below.

    there are certain devices which will have the capability to have a blocked number list, samsungs are more likely from my experience though ive only noticed a couple of them the sync (707) and the… 437 i think. the menu navigation is similar.
    samsung sync:
    settings->call settings->all calls->auto reject->

    if your device cant do that another option is a feature that was recently re-released, smart limits. it does charge 4.99/mo, you can read all about the feature here:
